Investing in silver may seem a waste of time, or costly to most people. But with further investigation, it starts to look like an attractive investment for those who have little to spend. In this article I will point out a few reasons why silver investing is so important at this point in time, the present.

While there are some great debates surrounding the future of silver as an investment, it has always caught the attention of investors over the years. Silver may not have gotten as good of media coverage as silver, while gold ranks the highest in advertising and cost, silver is a good starting point for the beginner, and for those with little money to invest.

Before we look at several ways that you can invest in silver, let's start with, why invest in silver? A lot has been in the media concerning the present state of the world economy. It seems to be much like a virus, where one part of the world gets infected, then it spreads. That is because we are already tied into a global economy.

As far as the global economy, any part of the system that gets infected, weak and performing poorly, it starts to have a ripple effect, going from country to country. It also is affecting the global currencies. Inflation is another culprit. It is no different than our bodies... one organ gets weak or damaged, it starts to affect other organs both before it and after it in the scheme of things.

The mess we now face in America, from our government, state and local levels over spending and borrowing, plus the Federal Reserve pumping money into the system that causes prices to rise, causes inflation and the devaluation of our money, the American dollar.

Most people turn a blind eye to concerns of the government, the Federal Reserve, their state and local government. You could say, those people just want to get through their day of work and chores, and kick back and relax, or entertain themselves a bit before repeating their routine.

This may be the same situation for most of us, but it is not helping matters. Our government seems to have a problem with spending much more than it takes in, and racking up a very sizable debt. And we can't just cut up their credit cards when they have a direct line of free credit... right out of our paychecks and through taxes.

Since the government on all levels has in no way plans of budgeting and making things right, we need to look for answers ourselves. And the mainstream media is no help! The media simply reads from scripts handed to them and paints a picture far better than I feel it really is in reality. So if the government is not going to suggest what we should do to ready ourselves for a economic disaster, nor is the media, we need to start educating ourselves. And by the way, the worlds wealthiest will be no help either.

There has been talk of America and other countries moving to a new currency. I really do not knwo what that means as far as how it will come about, and if we will be able to trade our old money in for the new. Possibly, the money we now have may only buy a small percentage of the new currency.

While I am no professional, I look to silver. Basically silver is the poor persons gold. Investing in silver may safeguard some of your money, especially if the U.S.Dollar is devalued a lot, or you can not buy the new currency with the old.

How Do I Invest In Silver?

Here are a few ways that you can start investing in silver even if you do not have but a few bucks to spend a month.

Silver Bullion Bars

The last time I looked at 5 gram silver bullion bars, they were at $10 a bar. The size of a 5 gram silver bar is not very big, but it's a start, and affordable for most people... those who still have a job. Silver bullion bars come all sizes, from 5 grams up to 100 troy ounces.

Silver Bullion Rounds

Another affordable method to use for investing in silver is that of silver rounds. Like the silver bullion bars, silver rounds are 100%, .999. pure silver. They come in weights of 1/2 ounce, and 1 ounce. And they come from several different countries, including the U.S..

While silver rounds may not be as attractive as rare mint coins, sought after by coin collectors, they are a great way for a beginner to start investing in silver.

Earning Free Silver

One way I have seen for average people to stock up on silver, is through a silver affiliate program. Many of these programs can be a bit salty in price.

While I look for deals, I have found an affiliate program that is very affordable, and pays well if you can refer others. But in the end, the silver coin collector will lose the most if silver drops and they do not have any rare dated pieces. Most collectors and investor of silver are in it for a profit, this is not necessarily about profit, but protection.
