I told my friends I would watch their two dogs...they left me a note saying if it was nice out to just leave?

outside, as long as they had their water dish. I wasn't to keen on that idea but after I fed them I wanted to make sure they did all their bathroom duty. I had to pick up my brother from the train station which is 10 min away from the house. Well, almost an hour later when I returned all these cops were there and they apparently jumped a 8 foot completely fenced in backyard somehow and attacked a neighbors dog, badly. Of course I can not get a hold of them and feel completely guilty. The other dog they attacked is very injured.
Is this my fault? We were issued a 200 dollar ticket and I'm assuming the owner of the injured dog is going to want someone to pay for it? I just feel so bad but I am totally broke. I mean, I guess I shouldn't have followed their directions.

if they gave you directions to do this than it is their fault! i would have done the same thing. Just show the cops the directions! =]
